Idea for roll animations.
I’m new to the POE universe but I’ve got 65+ hours so far in the EA. My highest level is 33, nothing special. But I’ve played all classes through Act I at least. But I thought maybe we could make dodge rolls look different for STR, DEX, or INT based classes. Right now there’s 6 classes, eventually there will be 12; correct? We could keep the dodge rolls for STR based classes like the warrior, and possibly something a somersault for DEX based classes. Then a short range teleport or something for INT based classes. Or, instead of by classes, the animations can be based on armor; if you want them to be physically correct. That way there’s no Monks out there doing somersaults in heavy armor.

I guess it could add some juice, why not. The important thing to keep as in average roll speed shouldn't be faster than moving speed, but even with blinking they can just make recovery from blinking long enough to compensate immediate blink speed.

We do know we're getting some more unique dodges later on. One of the dev diary videos showed a unique that lets you turn into a sand cloud to phase through enemies.
Selling roll skins seems like a no-brainer, as well. I'd love for my Warrior to barge through enemies with a shoulder check or backhand, for example, instead of rolling everywhere in heavy plate armor. |
