Triggered Skills not working with Weapon slot one

I have a sorceress where whenever i use triggered skills like Herald of Frost and Cast on Freeze/Shock the skill shows a red exclamation mark and can't be activated if i use my weapon in the first slot (it say no socketed skill even though i have cold snap on cast on freeze)
the other slot is empty

putting the weapon in slot 2 makes everything work just fine
