F l i c k e r S t r i k e : Feedback from a poe1 flicker...addict.......

I was prepared to write something professional looking, but as most of us flicker addicts...I have severe ADHD.

I have also played (almost) exclusively flicker builds in PoE1 for too many hours on my steam library..So, with that in mind...here is my expertish opinion from a not poor, but not usually rich during seasons, flicker addict.

Poe1 vs Poe2 flicker : Poe2 flicker strike does surprisingly well at being flicker, once you figure out how to get quick charges.

Whinies:

With the current skills available to us, there is really only one way to have consistent, quick, reliable power charge gen. It's quite easily attainable, but it's the limiting factor until you get a big boy staff.

The "throw" or "cast" speed on initializing flicker is ABYSMALLY slow. For me to have it feel somewhat fluid, I need at least .7 attack time (which is 42% ias). That is A LOT, that is too much imo. Speed up that initial attack speed time plx.

There is a bug currently that makes the enemies whom "rise" when a certain distance is reached between you and them, become un-interactable. They will remain in their dormant state and not be visible until you teleport out of the instance and return. This happens during a chained flicker strike...tends to be most repeatable when flicker starts, gettin a lil too crazy. Flicker 101: Flicker Strike is always trying to get you killed.

Certain areas you can glitch out, while flickering, and attack infinite enemies off screen (see the Hyena boss fight, you can get flicking into the javazon hyenas on the cliffs)

-Interactable things like Clasped Hands do not trigger if flickered through or passed, kinda annoying.

It's random and chaotic, just like we love.

OUR FAVORITE FRIEND : HEADHUNTER : ADDS A LOVELY MIX OF CHAOS (the teleport one is simultaneously awful and fun, keep it in)

The sound effect of flicker is fantastic, when you can hear it

It is delightful to see flicker wasn't really changed, A-



Most Important?:

The way flicker teleports is literally entirely random.

I think it needs, AT LEAST, initial directional control. At most, be able to control the direction of teleporting with WASD (much like we do with Ice Strike, etc)

Flicker is ... a fickle mistress. I believe right now, it's too punishing to be fun to other folk who aren't used to the abuse that balances flicker in a endearing way, like PoE1.


I've probably missed something I really wanted to talk about, but this is a good uhhhh ... attention test.

-First and only flicker build right now is an Invoker Monk lvl95 ice strike/flicker/esCi. Gemling will be next, I think?
