Automatically turning off persistent skills on reaching max life overflow

I am currently playing a Blood Mage with Life Remnants, Mana Remnants and Couture of Crimson as my body armour. On reaching maximum life overflow by either life leech or life remnant my persistent skills turn off completely.
When removing Couture of Crimson everything works fine.
