lost skill points after refund / respec

I was refunding a lot of skill points to respec my character into something better in preparation for the end game content, but in doing so experienced some glitchy behavior (described below) and in the end I lost 5 or 6 total skill points.

In the middle of selecting nodes I wanted to refund I had to pull a jewel out of one of them in order allow me select it for a refund. Doing so reset all the nodes I'd queued for a refund, after which the game got laggy. Without exiting the "refund passives" page, I went through and re-selected all of the nodes whose refund status had gotten reset and then moved all the refunded skill points into new nodes / skill I wanted to spec into. After hitting accept, I noticed that two full branches of skills I'd tried to respec into had no points in their respective nodes, and that a few of the nodes in the branches I'd taken points out of were still illuminated as if the points were still there. I tried exiting and re-entering the "refund skills" page in order to just try to refund those points again and put them into the skills I wanted, but after re-entering the "refund passives" page those nodes were still reporting that they were "unallocated" despite still being illuminated. I restarted the game thinking it was just a rendering issue or something like that. That "fixed" the issue with the "unallocated"-but-illuminated nodes insofar as they were no longer illuminated after the restart, but all of the nodes I'd tried to put my refunded skill points back into were also still unilluminated and still reporting as "unallocated"; after all of this I didn't have any unspent skill points that would make up the difference either. Based on comparing what I had respec'd into before the issues, but now don't have enough skill points for (I had completely filled all nodes in the two branches terminating in "Wither Away" and "Pure Chaos", as well as the "For the Jugular" node and the two adjacent sub-nodes located to its west and to its north-east, but now I don't have enough for "For the Jugular" and the adjacent nodes, or for the three nodes terminating in "Pure Chaos"), as well as based on my counts of how many nodes I refunded versus how many of the nodes I'd newly spec'd into survived, I think I lost 6 skill points (there's one node I'm not sure whether or not was allocated before, so it's possible I only lost 5 skill points). Is there a way to get them back? I'm level 66 and was just about to finish the base game, and was really looking forward to spec'ing into something better for the end game, but losing that many skill points at this stage is a huge hit. Surely the game must know based on my level and the number of quests that give you skill points that I've completed how many skill points I *should* have and so be able to make up the difference accordingly. Please let me know.

I have the same issue. I hope they add this to the known bug list and prioritize fixing it. It sucks to lose 5 levels worth of points (and the time I spent on earning them). Customer service appears to be ignoring my emails after telling me they wouldn't help and I shouldn't expect their busy developers to look at the issue (pasted below). Not cool.
