Arbiter - Feedback
The Arbiter fight is honestly very frustrating.
Here's what annoys me the most: 1) The corridor attack where you have to stand in the blue corridor to not instantly die. I play a Pathfinder with Queen of the Forest and a bunch of movement speed. Still there are cases where I just can't reach the next corridor to be safe. Unless there is some kind of hint I haven't seen where the next corridor is gonna be (besides that the corridors are horizontal, vertical, horizontal,... and so on) - it's just impossible. 2) The meteor attack when they just get placed so far apart or even off screen that I can barely reach them or not reach them at all. Again, I have about +50% movement speed. 3) The meteor attack again, but this time when it is ending. So I reach the last meteor and I have to stand in there and wait to not die, but sometimes the Arbiter does his slam attack from above while I still have to wait inside the little circle so it's a guaranteed hit. How am I supposed to dodge that? Can't go outside because I will get oneshot by meteor mechanic. Can't dodge after meteor mechanic because he already lands his slam by then. The corridor attack visibility is one of the most unfair mechanic in the game. You need to react almost instantly to be able to pass the phase, and it takes 1 full second to identify the safe zone location because the colors and the effects are very confusing.
This plus the fact that there is some case where you just cant reach the safe zone in time, even with 35% mov speed. I am done with it. thats not good |

why not use blink for those mechanics? haven't encountered the corridor mechanic yet but for the meteors it works very well. if they are close: walk. if they are far apart: one blink will get you there.
blink + ingenuity (the support gem) on weapon swap is also great qol for mapping. and i'm pretty sure most builds can accommodate it in their 2nd weapon slot setup. |

" This is still a design flaw. Why make a movement skill mandatory when there is only one of them anyway? it also costs you a gem slot. Current Build: Penance Brand

" Maybe it is a design flaw. But the way I see it, finding and using the tools necessary to overcome the challenge is very much on brand for PoE 2 boss fights. Especially pinnacle bosses, where there is no reason to not adapt your build specially for the fight. Change out supports, maybe some passives, gear or skill setup. I agree it's boring if there is only one solution, but forcing players to adapt is great imo. I love figuring out how to beat some hard content with some small adjustments in my build. |

In my opinion the arbiter fight is really dumb and has 0 to do with poe. All the defense we stacked the entire game is worth nothing there. Please just remove it from the game as poe does not need an "endboss" anyway.

I think the game fell off hard mainly due to some of the expectations of Arbiter.
Trying to get so specific parts of the platform in a very short amount of time, but also just not having the part needed to get to be on your screen and be visible, is an unfair expectation. People farming 20+ hours for the fragments only to die to these guarantee 1 shot mechanics (unless you play the meta builds with godly items and 1 shot him before he does it) usually results in them feeling like it was just a waste of time. I have over 10 attempts on arbiter of ash on a spark scorc, and 15+ attempts on a invoker monk, both on SSF. I'm not a god gamer but I feel I have an average reaction speed and have still never beaten Arbiter on difficulty 3 or 4. My farthest attempt was about 20% hp and 2 full mechanic cycles, finally dying to an offscreen meteor. Many other attempts I died to was the small opening on the fire waves with over 6 meters of travel needed in under 1.5 sec. Sometimes a blink wasn't far enough, or it was too far and I died with my tie still being the the fire. Xesht I think is one of the best end game bosses. You have time to asses what is happening, and there is a reasonable counter. Zuletzt bearbeitet von xheapshot#2641 um 15.02.2025, 14:28:38

" Xesht is great. Also King of the Mists is great (except for the transition phase that adds nothing gameplay wise but, well what else, a cheap way of killing you outside of actually fighting him) |

Don't get me wrong, I mentioned the "corridor" attack in my feedback too because the timing (at least for the first blast) is too short for most builds and the visuals are really hard to see, BUT you asked for an indicator - so I wanted to mention it here.
The Arbiter himself shows you in which direction the next corridor will appear with his "hand thingy sceptre weapon whatever" - he points in the direction where you need to go. And no, it's not really good as an indicator because it's short, he can be out of sight and/or you are busy looking somewhere else. Zuletzt bearbeitet von JakkerONAIR#4902 um 15.02.2025, 15:42:49
