I just entered Arbiter of Ash to test out how the respawn mechanic works and after dying only had the option to respawn in hideout. All the portals were gone.
Boss was attempted at difficulty 4.
Reading the patch notes would strictly imply that even at max difficulty the number of attempts would be >1.
Can we please get clarification on how many attempts we get per difficulty and how exactly to trigger the respawn?

You get more respawns by reducing the difficulty. You'll need to respec out of the +1 boss difficulty nodes.
I haven't tested yet, but I'm assuming at 0 difficulty you get 6 portals.

Yes, apparently at max difficulty you get no extra respawns. What I dont get is why the fuck wasn't it communicated like that. Instead we had to waste fragments to test how it works.
All that it took was to write the patch note in a slightly more direct way, but apparently that was to much to expect.

it was said in the reveal btw.

To address the problem of only having one attempt at the Arbiter of Ash Boss fight, you will now have up to five respawn attempts at this fight. Respawns can only be triggered by the person who put in the keys, and everyone in your party will be respawned at the same time. Leaving the Map still forfeits your attempt so you'll still need to fight the boss with the build you walked into the Map with. Higher difficulties of the Boss will lower the number of respawn attempts you receive. We'll be looking to add respawn attempts to other Pinnacle content over time.

Just put the some text like this: "at difficulty 4, you have no respawn attempt."
