Greater Essences have no business being so rare

I have close to 280 hours of play time in ssf and have dropped a total of 3 greater essences. None of which are useful for anything I need too. Better yet, greater essences are just glorified regals that still result in mostly T1 and T2 rolls. So why are they so rare?

A lot of items have no business being so rare, at least not if GGG actually wants the majority of players to "craft".

From a relatively new players perspective. I feel this.. simply anecdotal but I also feel like the vast majority of essences I've ever used resulted in a T1 or T2 roll.

I have selected every essence node on the atlas, and try to have the highest rarity and quantity I can, while focusing boss and essence tablets. am doing T15 rare maps. I am reforging the undesirable essences.

I would like either
1 - more essences to drop, or
2 - essences to roll a minimum T3/T4. Or maybe rolling a higher tier is influenced by the player increased item rarity (if not already, more so)

if 1, then i feel like a quarter or a third of my normal bases should be upgraded using an essence. right now it feels like 1 in 20 (maybe less)

if 2, then essences will feel special, knowing that essences are rare, but at least will result in a good tiered affix.

(ssfbtw - no idea how this would affect trade)
