Ritual Is Really Bad

Rewards for are bad too, I am certain. But I can't tell, because almost every time I've done one, it has spawned in the absolute WORST possible places it can. Even in maps with some fairly wide areas, it will still find a tiny, shitty little area with tons of obstacles in it. Between that and seemingly every monster it spawns having the ability to push me anywhere they want me to go, I've died more times in damn mechanic in this game than I ever did in PoE 1.

I've seen it suggested before, but I can't find the thread so I'll just say it here: Ritual needs to either prioritize walkable terrain of a certain size, and if it does not find it, then it needs to forcibly edit part of the map to create a bigger zone for the player to fight in. If I'm never gonna have a Sorceress that can face-tank god, then the game shouldn't be allowed to force me to fight in a tiny area that I can't reasonable maneuver in.

+1 this is a very good post in terms of game improving updates. Getting the tornado as a melee in a corner with two trees boxing you in is just silly.

Yeah ritual sucks at the moment. I doubt they would ever implement a change like that but it would be such a great fix if they did
Agreed. Ritual is in a horrible state right now - especially the map placements of the rituals themselves. In many cases its impossible to complete depending on your build.
Ritual placement is so bad. They spawn in a corner and if you get a tornado you cannot even move. I think its mostly the terrible map pool, they are so bad.
No idea why they made 90% of maps huge tunnel mazes that have no room for endgame mechanics.

My biggest concern with Ritual atm
I like Ritual (in PoE1), but here it is just plain bad and not worth it. The "rewards" 99% of the time look like material for the campaign.
Ritual is bad also 'cause everytime I start it my game starts to stutter.
Same issues with PoE 1, copy/paste spaghetti code.
Ritual is another PoE 1 mechanic that was more or less CC'd to PoE 2 without proper implementation and adjustments.

I simply ignore it, unless I've just leveled up, have already completed the map and it's not in such a bad spot. The loot is absolutely not worth the XP loss risk.

Ritual almost summarises all critical issues the game has currently. Although keep in mind that Ritual was also never directly "good" in PoE1 either. Ritual was used as a massive buffer to monster spawn(respawn), and Rogue Exile respawn, and the few occasional good rewards, namely the The Nameless Kings fragment. Most of these currently doesn't exist in PoE2, so it's almost useless to play Ritual, paired with the fact, that the Ritual is incredibly deadly and risky + The performance always drops and triggers Dynamic resolution, lowering visual clarity.
