Blink sometimes Dodge Rolls rather than Blink...
I know I'm not going crazy here, as I've seen my character Dodge Roll several times now. I'm using Blink, by definition my character should not ever Dodge Roll.
Supports used: Second Wind + Ingenuity + Wind Wave. I'll update this if I figure out what is causing it, but this time I was in a small doorway in Augury, trying to Blink back. Instead character Dodge Rolled towards a wall. Edit: just happened again in the same zone, I probably targeted the obstruction pictured, which was behind me as i was heading through the southwest doorway. Bug report reference #1,795,466,592. ![]() Edit2: happened again, in Seepage. The coordinates at the bug report location below are about where i casted Blink from, straight downwards, and my character Dodge Rolled downwards (from the character's perspective it rolled backwards from its upwards forwards-facing direction). #1,053,482,816 ![]() Edit#3: again, in Backwash. I'm going to stop adding instances as it happens too often and i've provided several samples. Late Edit#4: in learning a much better way of using Blink (WASD limits you to 8 directions. Letting go of WASD just before casting gives you unlimited directions - based on the mouse location)... I no longer notice this occuring. So it's very likely directly related to Blinking while holding WASD keys. Probably while moving mouse in the opposite direction you're facing, and Blinking into an obstruction. Are you switching your gear? sometimes there's attributes requirements that aren't met when you do that, so it means you can't blink anymore
Also, right now there are some skills that are either using more spirit than it should, or using spirit even when it shouldn't be using in the first place, an example to that is when you put support gems that reserves spirit into temporal rift Zuletzt bearbeitet von Vyend#2601 um 02.01.2025, 13:57:43

I have used blink extensively.
This is the cause of many deaths, i suspect that it opts for rolling when the "landing" area is unreacheable cause theres something or the way or just not enough space. Sometimes you'll simply be unable to blink, but other time the roll takes over. Notice it usually happens when you get "caught" in a small corner or dent in the walkable area The biggest problem here is that it puts blink on cooldown, effectively leaving your character to its death. |

" I am not really switching gear much, but I do on occasion. More often I am fiddling with skills. However, note that when the bug occurs, I'm constantly Blinking with no issue before and after. It's not that my Blink skill is disabled due to requirements or something. It's just that "randomly" 1 in 50 blinks does a Dodge Roll instead. Mercenaries: 100

" Then i don't know whats causing that, I've been using blink ever since level 58 or so and that never happened to me before, i thought that your problem was with weapon swapping or something like that but if it's not that then i have no idea |

" I have no items on swap, maybe it's the lack thereof? hehe If this is not common, then it could be a playstyle, or more likely a skill combination. I'm using WASD, and frequently twitch-reacting with Blink to avoid things, not using it as a movement skill. Basically treating it like a better Dodge Roll. So I probably end up not infrequently targeting invalid locations. Skills that combine to cause this issue... I can't imagine. I have minions around but there is no body-blocking so it shouldn't matter. None of my other skills are movement-related, though I have tested a bunch of things like Lightning Warp in tandem, and Lingering Illusion. Unless there's a bug that's lingering based on previous combinations, but that seems fairly unlikely. Gems do have memory I suppose, but only for like number of assigned minions, and keybinds... I'm using the default Dodge Roll keybind of Spacebar, but I'm using extremely non-standard keybinds for a lot of things. I have my own "ARPG setup" I use for all ARPG. Again shouldn't interfere, but I suppose you never know.
