game freezes and then disconnects on potion use

Only happens when I use a potion on my witch.

Did you find a solution to the problem, or get a reply from support? I'm about to send in a ticket for my wife. On her witch, anytime she uses a potion, or goes into demon form it just logs her out and says "an unexpected error occured" on both the standalone, and the steam versions of the game. We're not sure what the issue is. It's a ryzen 9 3900x, rtx4060, 64gb ram. We thought maybe something was going on with the PC so we tried my i9/4070/64gb combo and it did the same thing (despite me never having any issues other than the occasional zone issue during first 3-4 days). So it's not PC, or network related (on my end anyhow), because we tried multiple locations, multiple providers, multiple computers. This is something to do with the way the character is, or has something to do with what is going on behind the scenes whenever the command is sent to use (either) potion, or demon form. There is no code, or anything to look into to diagnose the problem. She saw someone else saying "oh, it was this skill gem causing it" so she tried to remove skill gems, and now we found if you touch any of the support gems, skill gems, etc you will crash the game. If you try to remove any armor, you will crash the game, and it will revert back to before changes were made when you log back in. She's also having tons of problems getting into the guild stash stuff without the game crashing. We've tried all the "fixes" available, and recommended by everyone.. I don't think this is something within our control to be able to fix, and at the moment we just went into the new year with an endgame character that is now unplayable unless you count throwing up one specific set of minions, and a fire wall playable. Everything else, crashes the game... if anyone has any insight would love to hear it, because I don't know what's going on (if it's us, or the game itself just being worked on), but I feel bad clearing maps left and right watching her deal with what does not appear to even be a similar game experience. I'm over here loving every minute of the game (merc) bombing everything to death, and spamming that Galvanic Shards, and all I hear is screaming on the other side of our game room. What's crazy to me is this is my first experience with one of these types of games, and she's played this style for many years. It's one thing to experience the struggle of the game, and watch your significant other breeze by like you're standing still... but to also deal with these crashes every 5min - 30min, and now being stuck unable to do anything with it kinda sucks.. I love this game (Steam says 185hrs as of posting this), but it's been a couples game for me, and I'd like to play as a couple. Lol sorry for the essay.

I figured it out... check your skill gems, and make sure you don't have one equipped that is no longer compatible. They changed something recently, which allows you to socket incompatible skill gems on Witch, and this will cause potions to crash game to login screen. this will cause portals to crash game, and any abilities using skill gems not supported will instant crash game due to some sort of vertex issue in a shader map or whatever nonsense. I spent hours of my day trying to fix this so I could play w/ the wife again... hope this helps. You're welcome if it did.

Update as I am typing this from across the room: I can't change armor right now... unequip crashes. But, potions work again so I can play at least..
Now, to figure out what the hell happened there. It's not showing any incompatibilities, or insufficient stats.

FIXED

I had the same problem with my witch.

Gamecrash while using potion, change items or set skillpoints.

If you carry items that require intelligence, strength or skill, these values ​​must be correct through the skill tree.

If you convert these values ​​to your skin attribute because you think that the values ​​provided by the items are sufficient, this will cause an internal error.

The game then crashes as soon as you take a potion, redistribute skill points or change items.

I have now re-skilled and set all the values ​​in the skill tree according to the requirements for using the items and all errors such as crashes, freezes and FPS drops (to 1 fps & game fucked up) are gone.
