Investigate Obelisk of Rust

I died while fighting Rust, my minions killed him while my body was laying on the ground. He dropped the loot and the rune of power. When I respawn there's no rune on the ground and I can't activate the obelisk anymore. HELP!

Same. Killed the boss and watched the loot drop then died a moment later. When I respawned, the loot was all gone, including the quest item that I need. I tried to reset the instance and go back. I waited 30 minutes for any kind of respawn timer. Nothing. The quest item (and probably big loot upgrades) are just gone.

Same here. This quest is just bad game design, how in 2024 PoE team puts a horrible quest that doesn't work? Dudes my game is stuck in this Investigate Obelisk of Rust, make your game design more simple get rid of this complex mechanics that prevent the player from NORMAL play.

one year later and I'm in this position.

Died right after I killed the Rust boss. Saw loot drop.

Went back and it's all gone and now I can't proceed.
