Bugs/ Observations regarding FPS drops

Hello there,

Skill Effects:

Fps Drops on some Skills (might edit if i find more)

-Glacial Cascade on Monk, every time you create a new line the fps drops by around ~12, i can lower my fps by 50 with around 4 cascades on the ground. and its a constant fps drop, as long as they linger on the ground.

- Frost Bomb around 2-4 fps drops when putting down, on detonation animation 15 fps

- Frozen Locus as the area is expanding the fps is dropping 2-3 fps every unit.

so it seems with lingering effects (couldnt see that with shock effect on ground) they affect fps in a very strong way?

MTX:

sadly nothing changed. of course i can only test 1 foot print mtx atm

Blood Tendrils, even only activating (in the menu) not even walking is a constant 40 fps drop.

i assume the Cosmic weapon effect, and the character effects like iridescent etc are causing the same fps drops like in poe1.

Disabling (false) most Sounds in the ini config file results again in higher fps around ~20 fps increase. same as in poe1.

6700xt 12gb the typical low med graphic settings
idle fps in a indoor corridor around 165 fps
dx12

changing any settings high low, upscale modes doesnt change the above mentioned fps drops

my cpu is on a weaker side. 12400k i5
32 GB ram

any one got an idea for this? no sadly upgrading to 4090 or bigger cpu is not an option at this moment :))

more info:

insane high fps loss with problems above in relation to other ground puddle effects

act2 poison puddles from those mobs just outside town.
when using glacial cascade fighting a pack and they drop their poison stuff thats around 70-80 fps drop. 145~ down to 70
i did majority of act 1 as lightning monk and never noticed any fps problem even then thundering and herald of thunder lightning whole packs.

hot take: is there a problem with effects and environment interacting? projectiles /coliding/calculation? arrows are one hit events i guess, but those ground effects are permanent triggering while active?


Edit: Switched back to lightning skills.. using 2 orbs of storm and herald of thunder. everywhere lightning effects maybe 1-2 fps down.

one single little jumper mob dies and leaves a puddle effect. 10 fps down.

Big FPS drop for me is using Explosive Grenade, which sucks because it's my most used skill with current build.

Every time Explosive Grenades go off (maybe 6-10 projectiles) the explosions will cause the game to downscale and drop at least 10-20 fps which makes gameplay very choppy.

Only workaround ATM is just scaling down to 59% NIS by default so it's not so choppy when the game downscales.

Hardware/OS
* AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
* AMD AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
* Linux 6.12.3-arch1-1

Settings:
* Vulkan
* NIS
same for me.
6700xt+ryzen 5600x, when i use grenades fps dropping from 80 to 15-25.
but i still wonder is 80 fps ok for my setup? i feel like there should be a lot more

if anyone has suggestions to help fps drops with grenades/explosions would be keen to try them.
no combination of settings has helped so far :(
In my case, i'm using Stormweaver freeze build, if i have 100FPS in a area standing still, i just need to spam my orbs and it goes all the way down to 45fps, just by doing that, not even hitting mobs, just standing still spamming that skill. I'm sure there must be an issue with effects/projectiles with some skills and effects like poison aswell.

PS: 5700X3D + 5700XT + 32GB RAM, all drivers updated, bios updated, temperatures are optimized and well below any throttle, it is a game issue.

i am having issues on my stormweaver. i am playing the lightning conduit and lightning warp build and my frames go from about 123 to 45 with casting lightning warp twice... it really sucks. i have tried a lot of different settings as well.
I play witch with flame wall to ignite, when my minions throws the bombs through the flamewalls.

Anyways, when I use the support gem "Fortress" to make a circle out of the walls the FPS drops from >100 to 40 FPS and for my mate in my party too... just an obversation, is it enough to post this here, is there a "more official way" of reporting to the developers?
