Melee items and ubers

Melee is in a bad spot in general, I don't understand why their items are gated behind ubers now. Echoes of creation and voidforge anyways. I've never found a saviour and ive farmed sirus at least 20-30 sometimes 50x a league and I've never seen one before so its a wash.
In a game that the devs know 100% that melee has issues. This is a kick in the teeth for anyone that wants to play melee in hcssf or even hc in general since there is not enough people farming ubers for items to exist. With respect to echoes of creation. You have to be able to kill uber shaper, so that takes a pretty strong character. Just to be able to make a mediocre to low end slammer build. The self chill ring too. The bleed boots as well, bleed is trash (Melee anyway Bows can do 20x more bleed) and highly in need of buffs so those boots look and feel obligatory. Its really bad design IMO. Chase items should be things that make many builds just stronger not enabling of an entire archtype (like warcry slams or bleed)
Uber boss items should be the cherry on top not the foundation of a build. At the very least put some smaller versions of these mods into the rare item enchant pool and let us ember them onto rares. Like I'd feel fine if it was just a different way to do a thing thats already in an okay state, overall but thats not melee. Remember when Ubers where bragging rights bosses? Now you need a character capable of farming them (AKA abuse the meta) or you need to play "Path of Shopping" earn an orb wage and buy them. I much prefer an organic ARPG where the "build enabling" is mostly about skills and passive choices the odd rare item affix and "niche" build enabling Uniques that can drop anywhere from KILLING MOBS. The possibility of dropping a build enabling item while playing the game is far more compelling than boss drops at the end of the end of the game. But as stated its far worse when those items are HUGE band-aids on badly functioning general archtypes. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

If berserker or slams in general had other builds to play it wouldnt be a big deal. Ruining gen cry, then voidforge and echoes being gated gives you only str stacking to play.
