[3.24] When can I switch on Necro to DD if I already have DD of Chaining?

I lucked out in Cruel Lab on my my starter and got DD of Chaining. I've seen on build guides to level with Flame Totem/Flame Wall into Archanist/Cremation. When can I comfortably switch to DD if I already have the T-gem?
