Tincture only apply to default bow attack? Bow skill does not trigger it?

So far I only manage to trigger tincture effect with default bow attack,
Bow skill suck as rain of arrow does not trigger it at all, why? If it is like this what is the point to have tincture?

Btw, I try to put the skill gem on bow and on body armor, neither works.

Anyone can explain it. Thanks a lot!

What tincture effect are you trying?

If is about the freeze/ignite/etc...

"Damage can ignite" you need to have the chance to ignite in the tree or the gear, if you are playing a Phys build and have a freeze tincture you are not gonna freeze nearly anything if you dont ramp up the chance for freeze itself.

Exactly what keygy said you have the ability to do certain things, but don't automatically, ignite,shock,freeze.

Most likely you're doing an ignite or shock version, in which case the easiest way to apply this is going full crit.

Now if you're talking about toxic rain and at full life effects, i noticed the aoe damage applies to them before the hit so you never get to stun them or do anything to them with full life effects.
