How the hell am I supposed to survive this as a normie?

I play on and off POE for some time now, but I always struggle in maps, and I rage quit at some point.

For example my current char: https://pastebin.com/U1mhHth9
Lvl 75 Inquisitor, 3.5k health, all resist capped only chaos is -45% which I'm going to fix but not sure if I should bother anymore. MoM, 32% chance to block, determination, tried switching herald to a tempest shield for more spell block chance, tried some petrified blood action.

These are no awesome defenses, but this should be the enough for a tier 5 - 6 map, right? I'm careful with the mods I roll on maps, but I still get one shotted sooo many times that it is not even fun... Can't even level at this point. So how all the streamers going seamlessly so easy though maps like nothing touches them? I don't get it. And I doubt they have stellar defense from the get go.

One example: One archnemesis mob had Unrighteous Fire, this thing killed me in 1.5 - 2 seconds... Like wtf? Suppose I had 5k health, I would have lived for 3 seconds... Can't say that would have changed anything. I thought maybe the league monsters. But sometimes I get one shotted, shotguned by regular monsters... I get so frustrated...
Sometimes I do get into red maps with some builds, but at this point I'm not sure what to do...

Regarding you current build:
Your defenses are bad
MOM only works if you have unreserved mana
Your pathing does not look great
Too few life nodes

But I also think the main issue is that you probably stand still too much.

So I would recommend you should follow a guide which uses a skill that does not require you to standstill, or go for a melee build with easier defensive nodes around.

Examples are: cold dot (witch occultist), EA ballistic totem, one of the many maurader/duelist melee options.

The guy above is right, no matter what GGG does with self-cast, it's inherently unfixable because you're a sitting duck.

Especially playing skill that doesn't chain / clear whole screen (i.e. crack lance over arc, ignite prolif builds, brands) and requires spell echo makes it even worse, I remember back in the days when archmage was good a friend of mine played with pledge of hands and the mega spell echo killed him so many times by locking character in place.

If you like Inquisitor, I'd recommend look up Pohx's Righteous Fire Inquisitor, it's a pretty tanky build. Or play something like storm brand.

Now biggest issue I see here is you don't know how to buy gear. If you're on trade league (which you are) you should be able to buy high life high resist rares and not be stuck with for example lvl 24 ring. I would also recommend swap those wanderlusts immediately for 30% movespeed high life boots and if you don't wanna be frozen, just use dream fragments (it's a cheap ring). One ring slot is less of a sacrifice than boot slot. You can probably buy basic life + resist rares for 10c a pop.

Defensive wise, you need either high spellblock or spell suppression. On this side of the tree investing in spellblock and running tempest shield is probably more feasible (spell suppression only rolls on dexterity gear).

Your gear has very little armour, so running determination alone doesn't do much. You should at least try to fit defiance banner and cast when damage taken + molten shell to get some baseline defenses. But running Inpulsa + Storm's Gift means you'll be more on the glass cannon side because these are purely offensive items.

As Inquisitor, you should also invest more into your energy shield. The whole point of this class is that you can regen both life and ES at the same time. Skip MOM and some other useless points like that +30 str (you can boost your crit in easier ways really) and pick some ES nodes. Get better shield, boots, rings and belt. Meaning more ES / life / resists and on shield you can also get something good like +1 to chosen type of spells (eg. lightning).

Don't bother with trashy clusters, you can probably get leech on amulet or some other gear slot. But generally, idk how much value you get out of leech since Inquis is mostly regen-based.

Roll better flask. Granite should have increased armor not evasion on it. You probably need remove poison or ignite on some flask if you didn't set up pantheons for removing those. Especially poison with low chaos res and hybrid build (meaning only your life will protect you from poison as it bypasses ES) can kill you in no time.

Generally if you decide to fully reroll at some point, follow a guide for SSF HC characters, like Zizaran's or Darkee's (Lightee) builds, because these builds are planned around low gear (no trade) and high survivability (hc). So they should be very comfortable for a casual to progress with them.

If you don't like totems / trappers which are currently "meta", I'd suggest absolution necromancer as a decent starter (look up youtube guide, there's one from a guy called British Exile).

P.S. Why do you have MOM and Eldritch Battery and Pain Attunement in this build? These don't synergize together at all, and now I see why you're so squishy if you use ES as mana.

I use MoM because as others already told me, it synergies with eldritch battery and MoM is taken from ES even though I have no mana, it helps with insane mana requirement, and I rarely have an issue with that.
As I said I agree that my defenses are bad, it's just that I would expect them to be enough to farm tier 5-6.
Thanks for your input, I play crackling lance just because I like it, not because of inquisitor or anything else. Guess probably this is no viable for a normie like me... I should improve my build and probably reroll.

Thinking of starting playing a bleed EQ jugg, kind of slow but it got me easily into red maps last league.
Would not recommend Pohx’s Righteous Fire Inquisitor. It only works because he has top tier gear, which is very expensive. I tried it this League and am getting 1 shot in yellow maps by some packs. Would recommend Kay’s Miinions as it got me comfortably into Red maps last league totally SSF even though I was playing trade league. Following a build guide is recommended at least for mapping your skill tree as the game is unforgiving and does not allow easy respecs. Crackling Lance/Arc Inquisitors appear to be doing well this league if that is your preferred class.
What part of Pohxs RF inquis requires top tier gear to work. Also i wonder if youre getting oneshot in yellow maps that have 4 damage mods while youre level 75.
