I keep dreaming about new better AI in POE, not sure why, but dreams are very vivid...

So basically in short, we haven't really discussed anything about AI behavior in-game and how can this change for the better in the future. I keep dreaming about this for a few days now and it keeps bothering me. Somehow there was not enough focus on it in Exilecon, after Exilecon it kept bothering me and i started to dream about it.

Somehow i just keep getting this dreams lately and i'm not sure why.

1] First one was, that the blackguards formed some kind of roman shield style box defense stance and were poking me with those long sticks from this boxed shield formation. They also backed up a bit and tried to form circle around me and than charge with long spears. This was from yesterday until today morning and was one of the more vivid dreams.

2] We could see more trow-able objects from creatures using environment as a tool, to damage us players. For example bigger creatures pulling out smaller trees and trying to smash us with it. Creatures similar to giants from the mines etc.

3] I can see some creatures, that could attach to you characters and start to suck the blood out of you, similar to bats and you have to shake them off with leap slam, or some movement skill, or AOE skill.

Don't think we'll see stuff like this for many years. The simulation here is "good enough". We can fill in stuff like you describe with our imaginations. It will be some time before computing power gets to the point where wasting it on AI like you describe becomes practical.

I hope we can come closer with POE2 and i am also thinking to learn how to code AI behavior. It keeps fascinating me, this kind of stuff.

My sister is in AI... she's working on a project that creates indices for textbooks. A good index is more than just a list of frequently used words and where they first appear. It has to be understood, and only referenced where it would be useful to be sent. Not an easy task. They've been at it for about 5 years.

They have access to real computers... not PCs.

This is amazing,hopefully more of this things come to the surface and GGG absorbs them and someday we could see the changes. Maybe with POE2 and onwards, crossing my fingers <3.
