Ps4 how to tell gem synergy??

Hey everyone, long time pc player here. I'm at a rut here, when you first get a gem from an NPC, it shows what that gem will synergize with IE will it work together or not.

But after gaining several gems, and then trying to link them on own in inventory, that little heads up display doesn't show whether or not they work together? Am I missing a hotkey or is there some screen? I know on pc in your own inventory you could somehow show that either the gem would or would not work together!

Works just fine for me, just have the active skillgem equiped and when you have support gems in the inventory hover over them and the box shows up

For some reason even when I have my 3 link weapon, say all red, two supports and one active. I press O, hover over the gems that are sockets in the weapon and nothing shows up? Is this a bug for me? Anyway to post a picture?

NEVERMIND.

So it seems I can only highlight the support skills in the INVENTORY. Not while they are attached to the linked gems while In a weapon.. Plegh

You'll know if they link together if you put them in the item itself too. Just hover the skill gem and see what other support gems light up (though it's faint and I literally have an artists eye, so may be hard for some to notice).

You can also see on the skill icons themselves, either when assigned or in skill tab. They will add a different letter on the right of the skill icon. The new letter will be the same color as the gem you just socketed.
