Lag without connection issues

This bug came with the new Synthesis update. In Betrayle I had never this bug.

At certain zones/dungeons/maps - sometimes even in my hideout - I've lag.
That lag is in the graph somewhere between a ping of 60ms and 250ms.

When I restart the game, it's gone and appears then in another zone.
I've an high end pc and my internet connection is quite good.

I found an old thread of 2014. I tried this to run PoE (over Steam) with /affinity 7 (for a certain CPU core and I tested several cores but nothing worked out for me.

Here you can read how to use affinity as starting option (it's a Win10 software which comes with Windows)

Would be awesome if you can fix this bug or tell me a workaround.

same here but the lag doesn't disapear when I move into another zone.
Frankfurt gateway shows 44ms but I always have 60-300ms ingame.
That's never happened before in all the years I'm playing PoE.
PLs fix it, it's almost unplayable atm.

I have the same issue. Seems to happen at random locations, and if you change locations the lag seems to stop. Both me and my friends have it, and even standing still the latency is so huge that you can't even attack.

I changed hideouts to a really small one (cartographer's hideout) without any decorations. That made the lag go away in the hideout at least. But maps are still laggy.

It literally makes the game unplayable, so this needs to be fixed asap!

I've had the same lagspikes since 3.6.3b(4th of april patch). Latency spiking for no reason, hangups, a lot of unneeded deaths because it's impossible to react. Super frustrating.
Same for me. every other time i enter a new area, it is insanely laggy.
I can sometime pick another hideout and then return to me original one to fix it.
But its a problem when its in the nexus and when i open Incursion temple. They can't be fix by reentering the zone.

Never had any issue like that before. So i'm pretty sure it ain't my setup.
And the fact that the game will run smoothly in half of the zone.

I have also run into this issue. Best and only workaround is to keep re-entering the area/map until you get one of the unaffected area servers.

That being said, some observations for the Frankfurt (EU) realm:
- assuming there is some sort of random load balancing going on during area transitions, about 20-25% of the area servers are affected
- the observed lag is caused by periods without server response, after a few seconds the server responds again and the client does its fast-forward update
- traffic towards the server seems to go through fine, as I can still use skills and move around during lag spikes (obviously, the client will only show this once updates arrive from the server again)
I tried to:

* de-install PoE and re-install it
* don't use mercury trade
* don't use trade_makro
* use several /affinity options to run PoE on only one core

But nothing helped so far. And at the moment the game is not playable for me, because I can not re-enter a map until I get a 'lag-free'-version, because it's limited. ya know ;)

Edit: and to be said, my GPU is idling at max 53% - so I assume it's not a graphic issue

I´ve got the same awful laggs here and two leagues ago I could play perfectly fine with Lockstep.
Now even Predictable is lagging SO extremly hard (2-4 secs Frankfurt each time) that the game becomes totally unplayable.

Well congrats, now you also broke Predictable which is quite a feat on it´s own ...

This really looks like a server / loadbalancer / DDOS issue, so invest some money & time here and please fix this.
It can´t be the amount of players, most of them already quitted the league due to the strange mechanics or the lagg itself ...
