Soulrend+Chain
Just tested it and it seems like soulrend+chain does not work? I get that fork does not work because it pierces, but either I just cant see the chain because the projectiles somehow overlap or it outright does not work?

u dont need chain or fork for SR..
the SR itself have a "AoE" tag that makes the projectiles affect enemies around the projectile area, come on, 1 cast is enough to clean the screen, why u need chain? My end, it justifies my means, All I ever do is delay, My every attempt to evade, The end of the road And my end.... Zuletzt bearbeitet von imLuCaSsS#6273 um 20.03.2019, 17:04:09

" Why do you need it, and why doesn't it work are very different questions. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Okay it actually seems to work. It just does look differently than I thought. It looks like it spawns a new projectile from close by enemies. I expected more of like spawning from the hit enemy flying towards close by enemies.
It is not about needing it - I just like to experiment with support gems and see how those interact. |

" ok got you but only by the AoE tag and the 100% piercing chance on SR I would say chain or fork its totally useless on this spell. Just a opinion. xd Very different from spells like fireball or ethereal knifes for example. Both are great with fork or chain. My end, it justifies my means, All I ever do is delay, My every attempt to evade, The end of the road And my end.... Zuletzt bearbeitet von imLuCaSsS#6273 um 20.03.2019, 17:09:00

A projectile must reach it's pierce limit before it can chain or fork. Projectiles with no pierce limit like Soulrend, Freezing Pulse, Shrapnel Shot, etc., are not able to chain or fork.
Soulrend with GMP gives you crazy coverage anyways, no need to chain. (Edit: Actually Shrapnel Shot does have a pierce limit, didn't know that. Point still stands.) This is a buff™ Zuletzt bearbeitet von AkuTenshiiZero#6120 um 20.03.2019, 17:12:35

Projectiles have a priority order when it comes to effects.
pierce -> fork -> chain -> return -> eplosion(some projectiles only explode when the projectile itself disapears, others explode on every hit interaction) So when a projectile has pierce : true(100%) all other effects can not occur because it takes priority. https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Projectile#Pierce This page has all projectile related info i think. Peace, -Boem- edit : it's possible to make it chain and fork though with the snakepit ring which put the spells pierce value : false allowing other effects to take place in the correct order.
