Maim / Hinder - do Lots of monsters use those?

Question is in the title: do lots of monsters use maim or hinder against us players? Is it useful to have this corruption on a jewel, or is it only worth to have this for PvP?

Nope, but when it happens its very noticeable. It's more of a nice thing to have. Not mandatory by any stretch, but might as well if you are corrupting jewels anyway.
