Does "Elemental Hit" deal non elemental damage?
Hi game experts,
I'm still lacking game knowledge and English is not my mother language. When I read the explanation of Elemental Hit in WiKi -- "Elemental Hit is an attack skill, executing a basic attack with added damage of a random element", it seem to me it is talking all non-elemental damages plus one and only one of the 3 type elemental damage. But when I read tool tips of gem -- "Only Deals Damage of the chosen Element, Deals no Damage of other Damage Types", I'm screwing up, something I feel it is talking 2 of the 3 elemental types are excluded, something I feel it is talking all damage types other than chosen element are excluded. Any Help? Thanks in advance :) Zuletzt angestoßen am 28.12.2018, 06:46:31

Everytime you attack with Elemental Hit, it rolls either cold, lightning or fire and only deals one of those. It does not deal any other damage (weapon damage, for instance).
You can force it to only roll one type of damage via the Combat Focus jewels, where either the Cobalt, Viridian or Crimson jewels block one of the different damage type rolls (Viridian blocks lightning, Crimson blocks cold, etc). This makes you able to scale only one type of damage. |

Valuable information, thanks a lot :)
BTW, if weapon damage doesn't matter, does it better to look for a weapon with fast attack speed? |

" Yes, and the meta thing with Elemental Hit is crafting/buying a bow that has plus level to socketed gems. Buying one is expensive, but crafting one does not drain that much currency, if you've got the fossils for it. Most players go for the Porcupine set of divination cards to get a 6-link Short Bow that they then craft with fossils to get the mods they're after, like attack speed and +# to Socketed Gems (be it Bow gems or Fire/cold/whatever, EH counts as alot of gem types, as seen by looking at the different types listed just under the skill name while hovering over the skill gem). Since Elemental Hit scales very well with levels, +# to gem levels on the weapon is your safest bet. Or, get a Frostferno helmet until you can get the 6-link bow (the helmet gives Elemental Hit +4 to gem levels). Zuletzt bearbeitet von afvskrap#4720 um 28.12.2018, 05:20:41

Thanks again!
However, unfortunately I'm SSF player. But it is good to learn more game knowledge for future use :) |

" Well, the card set (The Porcupine) is farmable without too much hassle, it drops in The High Gardens (act zone) and Gardens, Plaza and Terrace maps. I usually get 1-2 sets in the process of just mapping without targeting it, so it's one of the more attainable six link weapons for bow users. |
