This application has failed to start because bcrypt.dll was not found

After a quick Google it seems that this dll is from Windows Vista and up. But I am using Windows XP. I downloaded several bcrypt.dll and put them in the poe folder and the patcher starts, but after the download other errors appera like :

or

The application failed to initialize properly(0xc0000142).Click OK to terminate

Is Windows XP still supported? Do I have to reinstall?

Confirms, 3.4 update misses two DLL files after update, on XP:
BCRYPT.DLL (executable itself) and MSS32.DLL (dependency from BINK2W32.DLL)

Grabbing bcrypt.dll from the internet does not seems a solution:

Thanks a lot! I tried whole night to replace ntdll.dll but couldn't as it was a system file.

But putiing bcrypt and mss32.dll in the poe folder fixed it. The last 22mb of patch downloaded and game loaded with no problem until Ledge now!

Whilst this may well be an accurate statement, unfortunately XP has been out of support for over 4 years. You are likely to encounter more problems similar to this as time goes on.

Furthermore, as there have been no security hotfixes for XP in the past 4 years, you are asking for all sorts of trouble by continuing to use it. I seriously hope you do not do anything important on such a system (e.g. online banking, or actually pay for anything using a card online).
