please always enable corpse targeting

i realized that corpse targeting is disabled when you dont have a skill that can affect corpses however i really dont see the usefulness of this feature.

even if i dont have a spell that can affect corpses i sometimes like to inspect dead mobs of what "properties" they had. for example i had trouble with a particular mob and i after i killed it i want to know why i had such trouble, i will try to inspect its properties with corpse targeting to find out but if i dont have a skill that interact with corpses then i cant find out what mods that mob had. its not usually ideal to try and read the mods on a monster while it is still alive.

also the "corpse targeting" itself is a button that you need to hold down just to activate, there is really no point in having it disabled when you dont have a skill that works with corpses. if you are not interested with the corpses then just dont hold it down.

Since all my chars are summoners I have not been aware of this bad design. Thanks for bringing it up.

Obviously corpse targeting should always be available to players, should they want to enable it.

Is GGG seriously disabling it and preventing us from enabling it at all unless we equip corpse explosion or summon zombie/spectre? That is bad... really bad...

Full support. Don't prevent us from enabling corpse targeting. Under any circumstances.

bump on this one. found out that you cant just equip a skill that can interact with corpses, you actually need to have the skill in one of the very few 8 action buttons you have in order to use "corpse targeting" to inspect fallen enemies
Necro Bump

This is really stupid. Please change it so anyone can target corpses.

Bump.

I recently started playing POE (only level 29 on my first character) and absolutely love it, all the design decisions and innovations to the genre are really wonderful, and I'm probably still ignorant of half of them.

This is a problem, though. For the reasons that the OP stated, and just for curiosity's sake, this restriction is absurd, and I can't see any point to it. It would be great if all characters had access to this information.
