German Translation Feedback

Hello,

I've got the game running for less than 5 minutes and my brain had some heart attacks.
GGG said the translators have been PAID, if that is really true, they should get their money back...

Seriously... Just take some stuff I saw in the first seconds of the game:

Sin is being translated to something completely different "Nefarius".. it's actually simple "Sünde"
Sunder is being translated as "Zerschlagen" which actually simply is "trennen", which sadly really sounds totally stupid.

I could go on for hours by just having the game open for minutes.

Also there is totally utter bullcrap as translations like the gladiator ascendancy "Outmatch and Outlast" which has been translated to "Stärker und ausdauernder" instead of "Übertreffen und Überdauern"

I really want to get on, but would end in a full re-translation of what happened here... at least the peeps didn't translate "Exit" with "Ausgang"...

I completely agree with you. everything feels to "stiffly translated". the quality in brackets behind the names of the item is also awful (which i think is because of the German syntax (hochwertiges hochwertige hochwertiger could be difficult to push into an existing non gendered interface) but translating all the orbs as "spheres" and with a genitive seems so sloppy. Chaossphäre would be so much more natural and equally as correct as "Sphäre des Chaos" and the jewlers orb translation is flat out wrong translating it back it is something like "shere of the embetterment" should be just "Juweliersphäre" also "fläschchen" for Flask is hilarious. Just use "Flasche" awful translation to use a diminutive form. also "schatulle" on the strongbox is really bad. "kiste" is the right word to us. they should have let the community help to translate the game. it really messes with the feel this game has

I know no one is pressuring me to play the game in german but flat out wrong and or bad translations which have been paid for with seemingly a lot of money is really sad

My feedback is based on the website, since I wasnt able to play the game.

I saw on every translation that the ascendencies (tab Ascendency classes) aren't complete. they have blank classes "not revealed" or somethign like that.

The gameoverview: At one point the Items block the last part on the text. and on another part the text is a bit scrumbled - there is a word under another word.

Chaos orb -> Sphäre des Chaos. I would suggest these Orbs as Chaossphäre or Chaoskugel to rename an not Sphäre des...

Indeed. But there should be feedback, especially on things that are really wrong.
A lot of it is taste and opinion, agreed, but some things will definitely need some ironing out.

However, I'd like to see some feedback of people who haven't played in English for years, as those people are the real audience this language support was aime.
Do they understand everything? Do they like the sound of stuff?

Be glad you didn't have Elreon translated into Elfaggot like in Russian translation.
Also watch this post ninjamoderated because for some reason including the F word in game translation is OK but saying it on forums about that exact translation of that exact game is not. So GGG, such logic, much wow.

I can't believe they actually paid for this shitty translation.

Edit: Okay, maybe I exaggerated a little. But there are a few obvious mistakes.

When switching to German, a messagebox says "Du müsst..." while it should be "Du musst..." without dots over the u. I mean, the first thing german players are going to see when switching the language to German is this mistake and that leaves a really bad impression (like it did with me... sorry)

They translated Gem to "Gemme" instead of just calling it "Edelstein", which is way more commonly used (I myself have never even heard the word "Gemme" before).

After reading a few NPC dialog texts I must say that the overall translation is good.
