Scion version relies on double beyond or nemesis because of the unique 4 second legacy Elemental Conflux http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Conflux. All damage is calculated, then added to become base ignite damage. You then stack double dipping elemental nodes/jewels, and the ignite burns for insane amount of damage. It's a little different from the PF variant that stacks poison.
