how do you people get over 100k dps?

i'm following this guide and my lacerate is only at 13k damage, of course i still need to work
on my sockets and get better rare's but i still no matter what i do end up with pathetically low damage. my last character had a shit ton of gems attached to each piece which complimented each other and i managed to get 19k damage but how do i break this limit?
i want to do shaper and other content as well but it is only locked for players with perfectly rolled items............................................

You don't need perfect gear, but you do need good gear. A lot of gear on Masurat is simply "workable", but not actually "good"; rings, amulet and belt are all underwhelming at best, and your Kondo's is pretty much a minimum roll.

There is a host of small increases that add up to a massive amount of damage:
- flat Physical damage on Rings/Amulet
- more Passives
- any Jewels at all
- higher Level Gems
- Quality on Gems
- Starkonja's -> Devoto's Devotion
- Helmet Enchant (not realistic)
- Spiked Gloves
- a less shitty Kondo's Pride (~8% more damage with a decent roll)
- a single Damage flask

On top of that, there's a couple hard-hitting options:
- Kondo's -> Starforge
- all Damage Flasks
- exceptionally good Jewels

Getting even just halfway through the first list is enough to break that 19k, but it's going to take some time and probably some trading.
To get to Shaper, you're going to have to work through most of this list. It's the ultimate end-game boss; don't set your expectations to that level.

One thing I did not realize for a long time is just how much extra punch you can get from corrupting items. This isn't quite as dramatic with attack skills since they only add a few percent more damage, but for spells it's pretty significant.

Consider a lv20 Storm Call gem with a lv3 Empower, for a base damage of 410-761 at level 22. Now, corrupt both gems for +1 level, and put them in an item with a corrupted "+1 to all gem levels" implicit. This raises the level of Storm Call to 26, for a base damage of 589-1094. That's 43% more damage right there. If your DPS was 70k before, it's 100k now.
It's insanely simple to break 100k playing crit.

thank you for your input how do people get spiked gloves btw?
they never seem to drop for me and i need a good rare!
You don't need spiked gloves, that is like for extreme minmaxing, you probably have a ton of %dmg from the tree, fat phys in rings and ammys are the most important for dmg and the weapon rolls.

how much phys is recommended?
% or flat?

If you are following a guide, then probably the tree should have enough % dmg on it, as for flat, it depends on what you can get, decent rings and ammys are really expensive, but you can probably find/ buy some half decent for not so much, life, phys, ele resists on them are probably the most important rolls (if it also has weapon ele dmg, well that is reallly expensive), you should get a good mixture of it, but it is hard to tell what you need the most, but it is usually flat phys and life what are the most important, in case you see some with open suffixes, you can craft resist on it with elreon, so you kind of need to know how to search for items.

Also I'm not too sure about the flat roll tiers, but something that goes over 10 average dmg is good.

The way flat dmg interacts with your dps is, that you have the base average dps from your weapon, that comes from (min dmg +max dmg)/2 *attspeed, and when let's say you have flat dmg from other sources, that is basically added to the min and max dmg of the weapon, maybe it is not clear enough, but I'm typing from my phone and it is pretty hard to come up with a decent explanstion.

An other factor in reaching that high dmg, as someone already said is using dmg flasks (atziri, lions roar, taste of hate), then maybe frenzy charges.

A lot of guides use clickbait tooltip dps, being flasked up using vaal haste, frenzy charges (even if they dont use frenzy charges and it is impossible to maintain them in bossfights).

PoE is a game of stacking multipliers.

Unlike "increased" damage, "more" damage stacks in a multiplicative way...
It's the same principle as in the Wheat and chessboard tale.
You start with low numbers, and then suddenly the numbers explode.

People with high DpS stack as many of them as they can.
Melee physical damage : ~50% more
Concentrated Effect: ~60% more
3 Frenzy charges: ~12% more
Slayer's Headsman: ~20% more
Lion'r roar flask: ~30% more
Elemental boni (Hatred + Herald of Ash + Taste of Hate + Atziri's Flask): ~100% more (!)
...

If you have high base damage on your weapon, solid increases to your damage in the tree, and a bunch of attackspeed, the DpS numbers start to get beyond crazy.
