Do DoTs in this game stack?
Do the damage over time skills in this game stack their damage or just refresh?
IE: Say a skill does 50 damage per second for 4 seconds or whatever. You fire 1 shot and it starts the DoT, 2 seconds later you fire a second shot. Does the damage become 50 + 50 + (50+50) + (50+50) + 50 + 50, with the DoT doing extra damage where it overlaps? Or is it just 50 + 50 + 50 + 50 + 50 + 50, with the dot refreshed for another 4 seconds after two seconds? Also if the damage does stack, does that include things like poison arrow or fire trap which create an AoE DoT for enemies standing in it? I was looking to use skills like Puncture and Poison Arrow, but I am not so sure if the damage doesn't stack since it would just be a flat damage Dot at all times. Thanks |

Generally, damage from same DoT source doesn't stack, it overlaps and only the strongest one is active at any time, with viper trike charges as an exception to the rule, they stack.
So, if an enemy suffers from ignite status, stands on burning ground and inside righteous fire AoE all three of those will stack. But if you inflict another ignite and another player also closes in with his RF, those won't stack, they will affect the target only if they are stronger than existing effects. I specifically chose those three because all three do burning damage, but it goes for other DoT effects too. It's pretty straightforward, the only non-obvious thing might be poison arrow DoT, it's actually the same effect as poison status so it won't stack. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
