[3.16] LL VD Spellslinger | 8.2 k ES | 75%Block / 75% Spell Block | not recommended anymore

I wouldn't be surprised in Harvest if the optimal setup was 1 large cluster with thaumophage and 2 other good mods like conjured wall or mage hunter or burden projection for utility and then just putting crafted 48 multi/8% ES jewels in the two slots, then hunting every jewel node within reach in the tree and slapping in 48 multi/8% ES jewels as well.

The opportunity cost of cluster jewels is rarely considered. They're really horrifically bad for most builds considering their insane cost (at least earlier in the league when you're gearing up.) MAYBE 5% more damage and survivability if you're lucky...for 10-15ex in jewels. The weightings should have been left alone going into Harvest.

Hey, which nodes should I take 1st as leveling? Tree branches heavily from beginning and I'm not sure which parts are essenstial to make build work.

Can someone list crucial nodes in order I should take them?

I levelled using Kelza's VD levelling guide, since you'll be levelling life-based obviously. It's quite comprehensive with levelling trees and gem setups.

Around the point where he starts branching into the marauder area - I just picked up glancing blows and followed Zzang's tree to branch into the shadow area instead. Then spec'd out of ele overload at lvl 70, put on all my LL gear and respec'd the entire side towards Glancing Blows into all the crit nodes instead.

One thing I would recommend is having your entire LL gearset ready for when you do the swap at 70. The gearing is quite tight and doesn't leave a lot of room for balancing out resists when you want to eventually upgrade.
It's probably a stupid question but, which Watcher's Eye mod is the best for this build ?

"+ # Energy Shield gained for each Enemy Hit while affected by Discipline"
or
"# % increased Maximum total Recovery per second from Energy Shield Leech while affected by Zealotry"
I love this build , very nice clearspeed , can EASY handle all content including T19 full delirious runs, dmg is awesome & most times I’m runnin with movement speed flask, no need to use crit flask cause everything is 1Tap :D . I’m at 9800 ES right now and will hit 10k es on lvl 100 ! <3

any suggestions for upgrades? mapping is really smooth but i feel like i lack some damage for bosses, specially those t4 seed ones when opened in t16 buffed maps. Dmg for volatile dead is at 270k in PoB.

You're not hitting the 52% cooldown recovery speed cap. This is invisible in PoB but compounds to a great practical DPS increase. More cooldown recovery speed = more balls spawning + more DDs going off = more damage. Highly suggest getting cooldown recovery speed on boots to hit that 52%.

Atm you're sitting on 19% from Spellslinger gem + 18% from belt = 37% cooldown recovery speed. You can get another additional 15% from your boots.

Also, I know it's a tough bargain to push considering your wand is already quite insane, but the way spellslinger works is that it double dips into the base damage of your wand. As such, things like flat fire damage (T0 essence of anger mod which is much higher than regular rolled T1), or flat fire to spells are bigger DPS increases than you would imagine. You'd get a very substantial DPS increase by re-rolling that flat fire into a t1 mod, or a t0 essence mod, although I realize this would be very hard to achieve. Personally (when you have a ton of currency), I recommend getting another base with a +1 to level of gems fractured mod and rolling it with Essence of Anger until you hit T0 Flat Fire (guaranteed) and +1 to level of fire gems or Flat fire to spells, and then augmenting crit strike chance for spells / crit multi onto it and finally crafting Trigger. Obviously, this is very expensive.

Personally I think that just hitting 52% CDR will be huge for you, do try to get it on boots!

Thanks a lot for your answers. I actually have 38% because SS gem is lvl 21 so i do hit the 38% breakpoint. But i agre 100% that atm the best upgrade is getting 52%CDR. About the wand, im just hitting it with remove add attacks and hopefully i hit a high tier flat fire because i dont have what it takes to craft it from scratch.
Also, do you think that not having tailwind on boots is a big deal? My resists are so thigh that i need two res on boots.
Anyone know how to find boots like that one a trade site? It won't let me search for the "Cannot Be Frozen" mod.

chance to avoid being frozen and put 100 in minimum

Hey everyone, last time I posted in this thread was about 2 weeks ago when I just started the character.

I struggled with the cluster jewel version of the build, since there are so many good skill points to prioritize on the tree itself. Decided to check out what people on poe.ninja are doing and noticed that nobody is using this cluster jewel version. Instead, the "popular" version of the tree on poe.ninja actually doesn't take any cluster jewels and gets both, more damage nodes and higher ES.

Here's an example of a profile of someone who's top on ES/damage on poe.ninja, with significantly worse gear than Zzang.

Zzang's PoB showcase obviously has absolute GG-gear in every slot (along with legacy items), which carries it, but I feel like the tree and clusters are kind of suboptimal since there's a lot of good nodes being sacrificed on the tree.

However, this thread was extremely enlightening in terms of learning the build concepts, providing gearing advice, and understanding the build mechanics. All of this wouldn't be possible without Zzang, so thank you! I'm really appreciative since I don't think I'd able to understand this build without all the indepth explanations.

The reason I'm making this post is because I noticed that many players in the latest pages of the thread have been struggling to make this build work, and I was in the same situation until I switched to the new tree. I was dying to t16 bosses, randomly on high-tier maps and didn't have a chance of killing the endgame encounters. Both my damage and survivability went up considerably with the same gear after making the switch. Here's my PoB for reference (community fork): https://pastebin.com/Vai7T3NY

With this tree, I've successfully cleared A8 sirus, uber elder, shaper, mastermind, delve bosses, cortex completely deathless. In most cases I instaphase them off-screen. T16 bosses are deleted before I even get to see them. I can pretty much facetank most mechanics.

Here's a showcase for what the endgame encounters look like (basically, insta deletion)
Uber Elder
Cortex
A8 Sirus - I cropped out the boring stuff (phase 1 - phase 3) because you literally cannot die to him during those phases, the final phase is where the "real" fight begins anyway

My gear is pretty budget, around 20ex for all of it. The rares are largely harvest crafted with cheap seedcrafts. You'll notice I don't have a bottled faith or any big luxury upgrades, probably my most expensive piece is the Watcher's Eye (spent 7ex for it).

This is my gear for reference:

I hope this is able to help out anyone struggling with the build. Cheers, and thanks again Zzang!

Thanks for sharing your build. Much appreciated and has definitely helped me out.

One thing I'll mention though is that your build is well over 20ex for those items. The watcher's eye alone is around 30ex atm, so thought it would be worth pointing this out if anyone chooses to go your route :)
