Trying to make sure I don't bungle my first HC run on Xoch
https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Maladal/characters?characterName=Xochital The passive tree should be accurate per the leveling section, but I'm worried about how important the leveling uniques are versus the skill gems and their supports. I'm at the point where I have access to almost every skill gem the build uses but without enough links--is there a bare minimum of uniques+gems you would recommend maintaining until I get all the recommended gear with the proper links? Hi, can I ask you, what do you think it's better for ultimate endgame, Necromancer or Occultit? I am asking cuz I really enjoy tankiness on my characters, so I am thinking about going Occultist. Money is no issue. And do you have any suggestion for gem setup instead of offering?

" Np ;) " Hey :) I don't play HC at all myself, so it's pretty hard to give any advice there. There have been some successful HC players in thread if you can search for their posts. You are still at early level and minions are somewhat weak at that stage. I recommend grinding slowly and starting to push for higher tier maps when you have pseudo 6-link for specs and 5-6 link for Golems. Maybe also focus on very high EHP (HP + ES) rolls on gear? Question for you, i have a Skin of the Loyal, but mine is 3 red, 2 blue, 1 green. What blues should i keep and what red to add. Any advice would be appreciated.

" " Hello :) Yep, 3r1g2b uses (flame Golem -> Empower -> Fire Pene -> GMP -> Echo -> Minion damage). " Hey :) I usually run 1x rare jewel myself and recommend 2x max total rare jewels. Golems cast speed is pretty much capped by cooldown reduction and more Harmonies you can get, faster Golems can cast new Magma orbs. However dammage is already plenty and 1x extra Harmonies wont make that big difference unless min-maxing, so using 1x rare jewel can give nice extra utility. 5-6x Harmonies is already enough to do all content with ease. I like to get 1x rare abyssal jewel with chance to taunt and chance to blind for minions. Vanguards specs and Animate Guardian can both taunt and blind with melee attacks. Other good stats are : - Max ES - Max HP - Minion ele res - All ele res for char - There are also lot more ok:ish stats but not amazing. Flat fire damage is pretty small boost so I usually try something else for the line. Animate Guardian has already hinder aura, so it's only useful if not using Animate Guardian. Necro with Golems, Specs + Charity can deal amazing damage. " Np, glad it helped ^^ " Hello and thanks for support :) Depends on what content you are going to mainly run. My guild mate is currently testing both variants for tankiness and ES regen. I think he broke 15-17k EHP with full legacy gear with over 1,5k ES regen per sec with occultist. What we noticed was that if you switch straight from Necro to Occultist, drop Necro Eegis and try to run all Harmonies, Golems will have only 56% elemental resistances without ele res aura from Necro. This combined with 0% block chance means that t16 guardians start to 1 shot Golems with hard mods. With occultist Golems ele res has to be capped in one way or another, usually sacrificing 2x jewel sockets for 10% all ele res for minions or switching minion damage to minion ele res gem, minion life is also mantadory support in elder helmer. Once minions res are capped, all content up to uber elder should be doable with ease. Occultist gets massive regen and my friend managed to stay afk 5 mins in hyrda fight before hyrda critted him multiple times. Nerco gets lot more total damage and easier ways to keep minions alive. Necro loses in total ES and regen, but with legacy gear can still get ridiculous EHP. In league I think Necro can't really be true "tank" and requires lot more kiting. However Necro is cheap to gear and has excellent boss kill speed. Occultist can be lot tankier with excellent gear to the point that afk in multiple endgame bosses is possible. It however needs more experience as how to build it as balancing between damage <-> regen <-> EHP can be tricky and depends solely on gear. Occultist is better for party play as you can curse hexproof mobs and below t17 runs as it's very tanky against bosses of that caliber. When I released all three variants, I noticed that in guild each variant got very strong supporters. Some liked Necro excellent boss kill speed and effectiveness, some liked Elementalist immunity to status elements and wanted to use only Golems, some liked the excellent tankiness of Occultist and it's utility in party play. I'd say that Necro is still lot safer bet for endgame, especially if focusing on Uber Elder as occutlists minions can very easily die in the fight if not specifically gearing them to the fight. I would start with Necro and try Occultist when build is familiar and you have all endgame gear.
