The Intuitive Leap Jewel is actually garbage

Hello,

I've just bought that jewel.

I had many plans. First I though that I can save few points +10stat. Then I read that jewel must be connected to tree. Ok I though and I was still happy that I save some points. Then I realise (after using 6 refund points) that I can pick up node that's not connected to the tree but still if I want to pick further nodes I must connect it to the main tree.

To summarize - I lost some time and good mood to realize that it works in other way that I though. I'm very disappointed. Maybe in 9x+ lvl when all nodes counts it can be useful, but for me using jewel that can spare 1-2 points paying jewel slot is not good option.

Good think I sold it with 2 chaos profit:)

I suggest empowering that jewel - for example by giving more range or by using it as virtual tree (one can refund all nodes in it's range and still go further as long as jewel is in place).

I agree with this. either:

1) keep the range small, but allow us to place it anywhere and grab those passives near it, or
2) expand the range to medium.

outside of this, its such a rare application that it's not worth it IMO.

EDIT: the more I look at it, the more I think that this was designed to allow cherry picking of Notable passives while skipping the interconnecting points. While this doesn't seem huge at first, careful placement can save you quite a few points while gaining distinct advantages. Example:

Placing it in the Jewel socket just west of the Shadow Trap Hub can allow you to pick Frenetic, Blood Drinker, mind drinker, and infused. 4 notables without having to pick the in-between basic nodes. this saves at minimum 5 points.

Any of the Scion jewels right next to the tree can unlock 2-4 notables w/o having to spend more then 2 points to get to the jewel socket. depending on build this could save 2-7 points.

While a few points definitely isn't worth it. saving 4 points or more on a build can be a solid opportunity. Still, it's a pretty limited use gem. I almost wish it had a secondary stat "increases radius by 10-25%). that would stretch it just a bit, make it viable in more gem slots, and afford better trading opportunities as well. That would also keep it from getting as big as a "medium" radius.

For some builds it could be really good on the right side of the ranger area. One Jewel slot lets you get like 5 notables.

Non evasion builds will benefit heaps from:
- Survivalist for +1% max cold, without getting the trash evasion nodes
- Fervour (Frenzy charge) without having to get evasion per frenzy charge
- Acuity without those lacklustre attack speed/accuracy nodes before it.

Other builds could also benefit from:
- Heartseeker for crit multi without the crit chance nodes if you don't need those
- Herbalism for flask recovery speed if you need that but not extra life.

So it could save you 5-8 nodes there if you include pathing nodes you don't need to get as well.
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:
