Is /oos back in Game?
Well, I wouldn't expect a fix anytime soon. They basically painted themselves into a corner by choosing a server-client model more suitable for a LAN game, for a game played over the Internet. You can't cheat the laws of physics.
The more you depend on forces outside yourself, the more you are dominated by them.

" Because i don't have their source code also why should i do it for free? :) Also i don't think all devs are working on the same thing, but looks like none of them are working on this issue. "I'm programmed to say something that is kind and uplifting at this point, but there is apparently an error that is working in my favor."

I never understood why they don't just add /oos as an ingame feature that you can toggle off and on.
Repeats itself every 10 seconds. Or you can just toggle it off and manually do it when you think it's necessary. Everyone is happy. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Zuletzt bearbeitet von rockmassif#5784 um 12.01.2015, 04:59:59

" How do you know? Been to their office and saw how no one works on it? Otherwise you are just making baseless assumptions. |

Well it's kinda obvious, there has been no improvements.

The ignorance displayed in the discussion of this topic has me doing a /headdesk. Not to be insulting but it is exceedingly obvious that most, if not all, of the posters proposing various fixes for desync or explaining different root causes have not anything resembling experience in game design, programming, or the information technology industry at large beyond a help desk at most.
GGG has explained, in detail, the desync situation. Go search the posts. It has improved somewhat but it is not going to get significantly better due to the nature of the game, the internet, and the decision made by GGG on how to approach the problem of cheating in general. The bottom line, it was a business decision, it was the right decision imho for a small company, and it gives 'good enough' performance in the general case. It is not going to get significantly better, no matter how many programming hours you throw at it. Bah, go read the posts GGG has made on the subject. " Of course, as would anyone else. Unfortunately, this game is very playable and rarely a problem for me at least (I'm not alone). Speaking in extremes is not a great foundation for making a point. Thanks for all the fish!

Why does a question whether /oos is still in the game or not turn into a desync whine thread?
Answer: Yes, /oos is still available. There, was that so hard? |

" Let the content creators catch up on unique art while the coders work on the more severe technical issues. And let the balance people continue doing whatever random bullshit they've been getting paid to do thus far. Or fire them and hire more coders. No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.
