Death with CI and full energy shield. By a mana bottle.
I got level up and took Chaos Inoculation. My HP became 1, I got more shields and full chaos immunity. I was at act 2 cruel "church dungeon" lvl 1. Everything was good. But then suddenly I find myself dead after killing one of mobs... I thought I missed someone hitting me. Then it repeated 2 fcking times! I kill some monster, no one hits me, and then I suddenly dead! Also I use Blood Rage, but I got full chaos immunity, it can't kill me.

![]() Edit: Died again. This time to rare skeleton, which probably has chaos damage. Looks like this chaos immunity doesn't work every time. So it has chance to not work and monster just 1-shot me. It's unplayable this way! Edit 2: I've found what's killing me. Nicht verfügbar It removes 15% of mana from life and because I've got only 1 hp, it's instant suicide. I guess it shouldn't work this way. Zuletzt bearbeitet von idarktemplar#1285 um 28.08.2012, 08:18:54

it should work that way it does what it says on the tine removes life for the benefit of excess mana recovery why shouldnt that flask have a draw back for such a large amount of mana recovered?

Yeah, it gives more mana... But suicide by mana potion is ridiculous.
Edit: it could draw energy shield first if there is any. Zuletzt bearbeitet von idarktemplar#1285 um 28.08.2012, 16:13:11

The flasks are fine. CI has its drawbacks and it's not too difficult to find a non-caustic flask.
There probably needs to be more detail in the death message because a lot of players fail to notice the interaction between CI and caustic flasks until they die a few times. "Icemage has been slain" should be replaced with "Icemage has been slain by Grand Caustic Mana Flask of Adrenaline". Zuletzt bearbeitet von MorriganGrey#3463 um 28.08.2012, 16:47:22

" That way it would be good too. |

At the point the death is detected, there's no way to tell it came from a flask. We can, however, tell that the entity credited with your death was yourself, so we're planning to change the death message in cases where you kill yourself. Hopefully this will help people notice what they're doing.

this is like the third wa wa caustic mana flask death in a week. I'm compiling all these threads for, erm,
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

" lol that will be great.. Hopefully it also will be reflected on party members notification too. "player ABC just committed sucide" :p Perm. Retired from this unforgiving land of the Exiles.

a more logical mechanic imho would be to be unable to drink the potion when you don't have enough health. The same way you can't cast a skill if you don't have enough mana, or enough health if you use blood magic.

When I first discovered this, I thought it was of great amusement value to be able to die in town. Now I see that most people doing this have no idea why their health is dropping whenever they activate their caustic flask.
The flask needs to display how much HP is being taken for clarity, some folks mix up the 15% of mana for 15% of their total HP. |
