Essence not working on fractured item?

Haven't done much testing and might be missing something obvious but right before I had to get off I thought that a hubris with a fixed Es roll and an insanity essence would make for a good early end game option on my divine ire character.
Anyway I got the stuff went to use the essence and just got a message saying it didn't work. I didn't really loose out from this as I can still craft a reasonable helm but was wondering if anyone knows why it didn't work? Zuletzt angestoßen am 28.03.2019, 22:09:56

Ever get an answer? I did the same with deafening essence of scorn, it says "reforges a rare" and fractured is definitely a rare...I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work? I can see some people complaining that 3 locked mods and a guaranteed essence mod is too OP, but the odds of getting good fractured mods are so low
