Occultist Profane Bloom + large packs = lag?

The spikes shown here are from profane bloom going off on ~13 mobs. My concern is that the game seems to stutter beyond my control during htis point (abyssal cry builds seem to have this issue as well as seen on pohx's stream).

As you can imagine this causes significant issues during the breach content.

Is there any work around for this or is this just one of those deal with it and die moments?

Edit: After doing --nosound this issue has ceased to exist. Just curious if there is any way possible the team could either look into completely disabling sound preloads in the game specifically for everything but the loot filter? Its pretty crappy to miss out on things because sounds in the game cause lag.

Edit 2: Running more dense maps the issue returns even with --nosound used.

Nothing running in the background on my pc, etc etc.

I'm not even sure if the extra curse is worth this lock up, I can't be the only one getting this right?

I'd really like some form of an explanation to why this occurs before giving up a curse and the profane bloom explosions.

Just seems shitty that the game locks up due to this.
I know I'm a bit late with this, but I have the same issue with a Blight-CwC-Vortex build. At first I thought it was the vortex combined with the MTX effect causing huge fps issues, but then I looked at the ingame performance stats and noticed my fps was fine and it was latency that jumped back and forth between 50ms and 500ms. Today after two days of testing I came to the conclusion that Profane Bloom is the reason and now I have to respec my Ascendancy points so I can play... And ofc I traded all my regrets away earlier today :D

P.S. Same happens with Molten Shell so there is something fishy about exploding skills.
I'd guess it's because the game has to calculate each explosion damage as they domino through the pack.
