Player Experience Report – Bugs / Crashes / Freezes on PS5
|
Hello GGG,
I’d like to share my player experience on PlayStation 5 (Slim model). During my playthrough, I’ve encountered a large number of bugs, crashes, and freezes in Path of Exile 2. I originally played on an Xbox Series S and I never had even half of the issues I’m experiencing now on the Sony platform. As soon as I start modifying my maps, I lose control of my character, the music stutters, and the game becomes unstable in every possible way, with massive lag. I’ve also had several crashes inside the Chaos Temple Ascendancy area, where the game closes with an error report and the ascendancy attempt is lost. Loading into maps also causes issues: the music freezes and the loading gear animation gets stuck frequently. As mentioned above, simply running Delirium + Breach + Abyss on a map causes my console to make strange noises, and I experience huge lag spikes and screen tearing. As a workaround, I’ve tried adjusting both my in-game and console setting using ChatGPT’s help prioritizing performance over visual quality, but the issues still persist. Despite these problems, I want to say that the game itself is excellent, and I sincerely congratulate the development team for creating such a great experience. If you could address these bugs, crashes, and freezes in future updates, it would be amazing. Thank you for your hard work! Zuletzt angestoßen am 30.11.2025, 05:27:45

Hi,
I’m coming back here because the situation clearly hasn’t improved. I’m still experiencing game crashes with error reports. I’m also getting stuttering music during loading screens, as well as lag and freezes—just like I mentioned in my first post. I want to point out that my PS5 Slim has never had any issues with any other game, and my internet connection is fiber-optic, so that’s not the problem. I’ve tried every possible settings change you can imagine. Even in ultra-performance mode with blurry resolution, the issues persist. And honestly, nobody buys character skins just to be unable to enjoy them because of poor optimization. My PS5 also starts making loud noises when there are a lot of monsters on the map and the game slows down heavily, as if the console is struggling. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this. Keep up the good work, and good luck. We know the game is still in early access, so bugs are expected—but these issues are becoming really hard to ignore. |

Hello,
I’m reaching out again, and I’ll continue to do so as often as necessary, to share my experience playing Path of Exile 2 on PlayStation 5. The game still stutters heavily, especially when a large number of enemies are on screen, such as during Abyss, Breach, Expedition, and similar mechanics. My console even makes strange high-pitched noises, as if something inside were breaking. This mainly happens during Abysses, Breaches, Expeditions, or large, crowded maps. I’m also experiencing frequent crashes, as well as audio stuttering during loading screens. In my opinion, this is unfortunate, because Sony represents a huge market, and it might be time to revisit the console port of the game. Perhaps consider extending leagues to 6 months instead of 4, using the extra 2 months to address the existing issues. For context: I’m playing on a brand-new PlayStation 5 Slim, connected with a CAT 8 Ethernet cable. I want to emphasize that I have no issues on any other game, only on Path of Exile 2, and I sincerely hope the game will not damage my console in the long term. I still want to thank the entire GGG team for your hard work. I know it’s not easy, and you are doing your best to provide the best possible player experience. |
