No area map for checkpoints spread across multiple levels

I'm currently in Ogham Manor and I forgot to do Candlemere. So I went back up to kill him, and upon using checkpoints I noticed the following:
- I can indeed travel from checkpoints on the first level to others on deeper levels
- those deeper checkpoints are basically in nirvana on the minimap, as I can only see the area map of the area I'm in, but no the area of the checkpoints in deeper levels I want to teleport to, which I've already discovered
