Quivers

Why don't they get sockets?

You could ask the same about amulets and rings, thats just the way it is...

Quivers do not get sockets because Bows are considered 2-handed weapons and can get 6 sockets.

Quivers exist as "free stats" for bow users; bow are balanced around quivers existing. Quivers largely exist to open up more ways to specialize your character. Without them, we couldn't really have unique quivers to effect bow-builds.

If they gave sockets, they'd probably create a large imbalance.

Since bows can have six sockets, giving quivers sockets also would give bow users a very significant advantage.

What are quivers consider? Is not an armor or a weapon. Im trying to find out what is the best kind of normal quiver to make a rare one.

Actually, there doesn't seem to be any mention of Quivers on the web site in Game -> Items where other weapons, armor, belts or whatever are described (should I add that as a bug?).

Now I understand why they don't have gem slots, but I had to find that in the forum. It would be nice if there was a mention on the web site as well. Similarly it would be nice to know what type of quivers there exist.

Problem of course is: In what category would the quiver best be described? it's not a weapon, it's not an armor, It's not currency. It's not a skill gem (Although it does act as a support gem to the bow). It could be Jewellery as the belt is also mentioned in that section.
Maybe it should be in a section of it's own?

Point.

The normal place I would/did look is the web site pathofexile.com. Given that all other items are mentioned there, the missing of any text about the quivers seem to me as a strange omission.
